About the Author
The silly and sleepless Mistress McCutchan, otherwise known in the real world simply as Laura, created Morbid Outlook in August of 1992, while still a gothling in high school.

She is a freelance web designer, but also makes time to also design and make all sorts of stuff, DJ, dance as one-half of Serpentina as well as direct her Toronto-based troupe, The Serpentina North Ensemble. She is vegan, but not one of the pushy ones. When not working like a maniac, she can be found becoming one with the couch, especially if Three’s Company is on.

Ten Questions with Sue Hutton of Rhea’s Obsession
Mistress McCutchan
I really enjoy music, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I want to read about it. If you think band interviews/reviews are a tedious read, try writing one! I thought it would be much more interesting to gain insight on the people behind the music with just ten little questions, straight from the artists to you...

1) Chocolate or vanilla?
Are you crazy? Triple chocolate, with double chocolate fudge sauce...
2) Do you have any pets and what are they?
A fuzzy black cat called Darshand who thinks she’s a lioness.
3) Favourite place to visit?
The banks of the Ganges River in India at dusk, when the burning ghats are doing ritual preparations to burn the bodies. Weird, I know, but true.
4) Favourite article of clothing?
My current fave is my black bra with cross-stitching in the front, and ivy leaves sewn over the breasts.
5) Favourite piece of art?
My thangka painting (tibetan deity paintings) of the Goddess Machig Lapdron, a death rites goddess.
6) If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
Well, I’d rather be an japanime version of myself. I already pretend I am sometimes.
7) What are you most likely to be doing at 3 am?
Either engaged in some kind of sexual activity, loading up a water pipe and about to make some music in our home studio, or loading out gear from some grimy club.
8) Age you lost your virginity?
16
9) What piece of advice would you give to a teenager?
Don’t listen to any advice I would ever give you. Be yourself, you know your own path. Just read a lot of everything.
10) What are you most proud of to date?
Being true to myself, and remembering to stay true to my path. Although I get lost sometimes, I generally always re-connect with what’s important.
Their album, Between Earth & Sky, is available from places like Amazon to Middle Pillar. You can also check out their website for more info.
