Planning your next
house party? It’s time to check off your to-do list: making up your invitation or evite list, buying snack food, getting some music or movies together and of course, the booze. I thought it would be really fun to compile some spooky-themed drinks that any self-respecting goth would be happy to prepare! These recipes were chosen since they are simple to make and didn’t require too many or too many exotic/expensive ingredients. Use your judgement and drink responsibly. Feel free to send over your favorite drink recipes!
Black Blood
Ingredients:
1 oz Jagermeister
1 oz Citrus-Flavoured Soda (like Fresca, Sprite, or Squirt)
2 oz Blue Curacao
Directions:
Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well and strain into a glass.
Voodoo Tea
Ingredients:
1 shot White Rum
1/2 shot Blue Curacao
Black Tea, with sweetener of your choice
Directions:
Pour liquor into glass and then fill with sweetened tea until black and serve.
Black Orchid
Ingredients:
1 part Blue Curacao
1 part Dark Rum
1 dash Grenadine
Directions:
Blend and serve. My measurements were 1 ounce of both the Blue Curacao and the Dark Rum. I used Bacardi Dark Rum. A dash is 1/32 of an ounce.
Tattooed Love Goddess
Ingredients:
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Vanilla Schnapps
1 1/2 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
Half-and-Half to top off
Directions:
This decadent drink is made by first filling your glass with ice. Then add all the liquer, top off with the half-and-half and shake well.
Bloody Nightmare
Ingredients:
1 oz Vodka
2 oz Lime Juice
7 oz Cranberry Juice
Directions:
A nice twist on your regular old cranberry vodka! Pour the vodka, lime juice and cranberry juice into a glass 3/4 filled with ice cubes. Stir, and serve. If you want to really get fancy, use Stoli Raspberi.
Bat Bite
Ingredients:
2 shots Spiced Rum
1 splash Grenadine
Fill with Cranberry Juice
Directions:
Pour the spiced rum over ice cubes in a glass. Fill with cranberry juice, and add a splash of grenadine. Yes, a splash is more than a dash; it’s 1/8 an ounce. Stir and serve.
Spooky Juice
Ingredients:
1 oz Vodka
2 dashes Blue Curacao
1 dash Grenadine
Fill with Orange Juice
Directions:
Stir all the ingredients together with ice.
