Remedies & Poisons
Jamie Spracklen
Under my redundant sky, I
Sometimes see an antidote
To my quiet tears and arduous fears.
Often, in my jigsaw mind,
Poisons war with remedies
Leaving me sick at heart
And as vacant as a dark owl
Lost to night and myopic of life.
But In the acute serenity of your arms
Down dark to my tumulus of desire
I prepare myself for burial or cure.
