About the Author
The silly and sleepless Mistress McCutchan, otherwise known in the real world simply as Laura, created Morbid Outlook in August of 1992, while still a gothling in high school.

She is a full-time, senior web designer, DJ, and director of The Serpentina North Ensemble. She is vegan, but not one of the pushy ones. When not on the road or working like a maniac, she can be found becoming one with the couch, especially if Three’s Company is on.

Goth Rosary
Mistress McCutchan
Have you ever gone looking for something that you swear should exist but it just doesn’t? Well, that is what started GothRosary.com,” says AntiSally, the creatrix behind this unique company of Catholic-inspired gear for goths. “I love skulls and it seemed to me if rosaries were going to be worn by the Goth/Gothic culture they should have skulls.”
AntiSally taught herself how to make these traditional rosaries with a twist and the website was born. Although not a recovering Catholic, like many goth scenesters, quasi-style Catholic is appealing to her. Not only does she carry handmade goth rosaries, she has clergical wear, pouches, jewelry and a new line of fragrance mists.
“Each fragrance has a story and meaning. I do not label them as male or female scents, as they can be enjoyed by anyone.”
It’s tough to peddle perfumes via the web, since the tactile experience of smelling these darkly delightful mists is non-existent. But when a package of scent strips came to Morbid Outlook, I can certainly attest to how unique and perfectly gothy these are without being overwhelming or too strong. They also contain zero animal-based ingredients.
The scents include:
Graveyard
I live right next to a beautiful old local Cemetery. I formulated Graveyard to smell just like what I smell when I walk out on to my porch.
Wicked
Is the scent of what the word "fetish" brings to mind; leather and tobacco.
Tea & Sympathy
High tea or a group of ladies getting together to talk over tea and cookies.
Nocturnal
It smells like a goth person. A combination of clove mixed with patchouli and nag champa.
Fairy Wings
A sweet fruity scent that fairies would smell like. Delicate and clean, with fresh cucumber and ripe black berry.
Heathen
A flash back to "head-shops". Incense and cannabus smoke filled college dorm rooms, a happy hippy, etc.
Shadows
A musky soft scent.
Gothic Rose
Not a the fluffy common rose scent, but a richer more meaningful rose.
Crypt
Smells like mossy graves and marble crypts.
Samhain
Halloween in a bottle.
Mayhem
Created for those who love the scent of outdoor burning things.
Seattle Rain
Smells like Seattle after the rain.
“I love the smell of incense and was very tired of what was commercially available.” AntiSally tells us. “So, I researched, studied and made some financial sacrifices for several months so I could afford the budget needed to amass the range of scents and tools to formulate my new line of scents.
“It takes some time and effort to make twelve unique smells and there is a lot of trial and error involved. Not to mention the wear on ones nose and brain from all the incoming data!”
All the Goth Rosary Fragrances are water-based, so they can be sprayed on the skin, hair, etc. without causing dryness like alcohol based fragrances can. They come in 2 oz./60 ml bottles and are priced at $9 (US).
